ZenMed Scar Treatment

In our search for acne scar removal treatments, it was really kind of tough to find too many products that focused just on acne scars, but Zenmed has a line of anti-acne zenmed-scar-treatmentproducts, and in seeing their “scar treatment” product, we thought we’d see how it did.   We love that fact that they decided to treat the scars with two steps… an exfoliating cleanser, and then a treatment for the scar itself.   We were a bit concerned that the ingredients might cause us further acne breakouts, simply because they’re not really intended to be used on the face of those who are already prone to getting acne.

In the first week of use, our tester got a few pimples on her chin that she hadn’t had in a while.  Could we attribute that to the use of this product?  Maybe, but the tester says she hasn’t had any pimples for quite a while, so the coincidence is a little hard to take.  However, the pimples did clear up by week 2.

We tried to see how the product worked on BOTH the fading out of the redness or purpleness that surrounds acne scars, and also the look and feel of the scar itself.  On the side of the “soothing” of the redness the product worked pretty good.  We felt that there was a mild to medium improvement in how the discoloration looked.   This is probably do to all the calming and soothing natural ingredients that Zenmed likes to use in their products.  On the other side of the coin, however, the texture of the scars was pretty much not improved at all.  We kind of felt like the product lacked the “oomph” to get the skin to heal its dead or damaged cells that resulted from years of acne.

As far as customer service, etc. was concerned with this company, they were just fine.   The ordering process on their website was easy and smooth, and they always answer email questions the next day.

Overall, we give them a fair rating, since the product is all natural and DID seem to soothe and calm the irritation of the skin.   It lost points, however, when it came to actually healing the scar, and from the possibility that it caused us some pimples.   It’s not bad considering it’s not really an “acne scar” removal product, but just a product for scars in general.
